The Double Drummer Blog is written by DD Partner, Dave Keogh… that’s me in the photo to the right of Guy Leech, with our little mate ‘El Dood’ (doodle spelt backwards) looking at me in a rather strange way.
DoubleDrummer.com is an Australian online community connecting people through sport. There are around 587 sports and activities listed… but unlike other social networks, we’re not about keeping people in front of their PC screens. Our members use technology to connect, then get together face to face to have fun being active, ‘out of site’.
If you’re looking for a playing, practice or training partner in any sport, you join DD for free as a ‘seeker’ member. You post your profile so others can find you, then search for someone of your age, gender, playing standard, locality… even common interests outside sport! Only when you find the perfect playing partner and want to make contact does it cost you anything – just $1 to connect. And once we put you in touch, you swap contact details and manage the relationship yourselves.
You’ll soon be able to post your own events and invite other Double Drummers to join in, or just search for events in your area that you’d like to be a part of. Double Drummer will also connect you with ‘seller’ members… the clubs, coaches, trainers, teams, sport retailers, physios… anyone providing products and services to active people.
Finally, DD is also about helping others. Through our ambassadors and supporters (like Elka Graham, Steve Bradbury, Guy Leech and Layne Beachley) we encourage members to give time, sporting equipment or financial donations to worthy sport and health-related causes. The Heart Research Institute and Diabetes Australia are two great charities who have benefitted from an association with Double Drummer so far.
Come and join in the fun!
